I have a Fiat 500 with Blue&Me system but I would like to connect my iPod with a direct audio mini jack (AUX / line-in) to my car stereo system ...
Can anyone explain how?
Thanks in advance!

I've been told that this is complicated but possible.
I imagine that by the time one starts to modify things in a closed architecture, taking stuff to bits, etc, forking out 85 EUR for the Fiat Blue&Me iPod connector might prove financially a better move...

I have not played with this at all, so I cannot really offer advice on this. I would assume that you need to approach a car hi-fi specialist that has access to how the Blue&Me architecture can be circumvented.
Still wouldn't tamper with it myself...

Hmmm... since the B&M device sends ONLY audio to the stereo through a line out > line in connection, you can try to use a switch in order to choose what signal to send (B&M / external), or something like that... but I can't figure out how to manually switch to the aux in on the stereo, without using the B&M interface... moreover, the phone obviously wouldn't ring through the car speakers, but this is a minor problem...
+1...

Done some more research, and it so far it seems a Parrot device is the way to accomplish this without tampering with the car itself too much.
I just collected the B&M connector early today; no problems at all.
