They basically want you to use your iPod like a big USB key. B&M doesn't read music in AAC format
All the adverts concerning the iPod's compatibility with the B&M system were commercial BS

I can listen the same file both iPod and B&M.
Rather with iPhone it's impossible.
If it's an Apple formatted ipod you have no chance of connecting it

In the instruction booklet it says that the B&M doesn't read music in AAC format. 80% of my music is in AAC format (downloaded from itunes).
Also, my iPod is in the Mac format....

I have been thinking about installing a AUX port on the 500. That would allow the iPod to play music directly on the loudspeakers without any filters. It isn't ideal...but still better than nothing
